"My weekend WITH Kyla and my fellow WITH warriors was life changing (and I’m not just saying that!). A shift took place during that weekend. There’s something about the level of support and acceptance that Kyla facilitates in her workshops that truly can’t help but change your perspective, and the results we all achieved working WITH each other were often jaw-dropping. And now, even on days that aren’t the best when I’m tempted to revert back to the old life habits that no longer serve me, I really can’t. Something inside of me is just different, and I find myself stronger, more resilient, and more accepting of the present moment and what it means (or doesn’t mean).
I’d also like to say that I find Kyla to be the most attentive host and thoughtful organizer! The location was beautiful, yet still so comfortable. We had gourmet meals prepared by a wonderful chef and there was an endless supply of delicious snacks, teas, and healthy treats (made by Kyla herself!). Yoga WITH Suzanne was the perfect start to the day and truly added to the wellness aspect of the weekend, both physically and emotionally. On a more personal note, I’d like to say that Kyla is one of the most intuitive people I have ever met. She was always in tune with us—checking in to see if we were hungry, tired, or maybe needed a break (yes, letting go IS work!), and she was always there with a gentle voice reminding us to apply what we were learning. "The time spent on the WITH warrior retreat was one of the most magical and healing times I have ever spent WITH a good group of people who were all trying to better themselves.
I was honestly resistant to go at first but I am so happy for the time I spent on the retreat. I wasn't really mentally okay before I went and the experience helped me grow and mature past it. There was always food available and it wasn't all work all the time - we had a little bit of time for relaxation between each event. We also did yoga and there was even a pool! I came out of the retreat feeling confident and stable WITH myself and felt I could tackle life's biggest problems with ease and comfort -something I didn't feel before. The most amazing part of the retreat to me was when we were asking the creator to hear our heart song and the light turned on by itself! I knew in my heart the creator was there WITH us every time we went into Theta but during the heart song exercise it was shown true that the creator was indeed there (!). I even found my goal to start my home computer repair business again because of the experience; before I was feeling lost and didn't know what I wanted to achieve, but after the retreat I felt the excitement again. "The greatest thing about this retreat was that I could meet awesome people including Kyla. The retreat was a precious time that I could look back on myself, heal my wounds, and get the energy to move forward. And all the people who participated were very helpful and considerate so I could share my own stories and we could empathize WITH each other. I found that just meeting good people and talking to each other could be a great healing point. Lastly, I really appreciate Kyla for giving me this opportunity.
The best thing about being able to do this was letting go of myself because I was tied to the past. Some wounds from the past which I didn't accept or didn't notice kept me from moving forward. Through this retreat, I could look at myself from a distance. And this made me have some space so that I could embrace myself as I am and let my past memories go. Yes. Definitely. I would recommend this retreat! There's little chance to really relax and refresh myself because I am so busy. But during this time at the retreat I could spend real healing time WITH great people. "So I’ve always been the kind of person to reflect and meditate about my personal life and growth, and always thought this is something I’m meant to do on my own, since it’s about me and no one knows me as well as I do. However there are moments in life when you get stuck or you forget about yourself without really knowing or understanding why or what is happening to you. Why are you feeling or acting in a certain way? This makes you feel like you cannot see the problem and even less so the solution. This retreat gave me the guidance and support I needed to see my life and its problems, past and present, from a distance which made all the difference.
Coming to this retreat I was very nervous, since I have been dealing with so much rejection and lack of understanding from Korean culture and people, and knowing that most of the participants would probably be Korean worried me as I thought they would probably not be able to understand or relate to me, but then I chose to believe that if I opened my heart to them they would see me as a human, leaving all differences and judgments behind and this is 100% what happened! The people I had the pleasure to meet during this time, especially Kyla, not only gave me courage to recognize and accept what was happening to me, they had the patience to give me the space and time I needed to let that ball of emotions I had been holding in for so long get OUT of my system, which felt so incredibly good. I left this retreat filled with the will and energy to say, “It’s okay. I’m in the now where I can focus on healing and living a better, fuller life that I deserve." I cannot express in words how much your retreat has changed me, my loving mom and my sister. Knowing you and having attended your workshops, I knew that the retreat was going to be AWESOME even though I didn’t know for sure what a retreat was. I remember once I told you before that for me, I was already a pretty happy person and to tell you the truth, I felt that there was not much more to learn about happiness. When you told me about the retreat I asked myself whom would benefit most? I thought it would be great for people with depression, insecurities and not really for me. Talking to you however made me realize that I was ignoring a big part of my life and cheating on happiness. I was ignoring the fact that I felt sad, insecure about not having good communication WITH my family. "I can honestly say the retreat was a gift. I am one of those people who takes the time for introspection and self-evaluation; I always like to know where I am in life. While my life is not what I had originally planned as a 25 year old, I do have an incredible life nevertheless: successful husband, successful children, no dog though! My family is everything to me.
It has not been easy living my life on two different continents (the U.S. and Korea) for the past 5 years, keeping the old fire burning at all costs and developing new relationships and reinventing myself. I have been quite happy and content with who I am, but I always have that inner voice asking many questions, especially about the direction I am taking with my life. Sometimes I feel as if my days and nights are filled with activities. While these things are necessary and fun, I sometimes wonder the value and meaning behind what I do each moment of the day. I have given myself to serving others through philanthropic work for many years now and feel strongly than ever to continue in this work. The WITH Warrior Retreat with Kyla came at a time when I needed a break from my “normal” life and familiar surroundings and people. I met wonderful women from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Each of these women at the retreat opened themselves up at the most organic level such that I was pleasantly surprised by it all. We supported each other during eye-opening workshops. No judgment.
