Family Constellations is an alternative experiential healing modality that helps you uncover hidden dynamics in your family system. In a live constellation session, you choose other humans to represent family members, ancestors, emotions, diseases, and anything else keeping you stuck. Family Constellations was founded by Bert Hellinger, a German Psychoanalyst in the 1990s. It has roots in Zulu tribe work and many different kinds of western therapies like Karl Jung's work in archetypes.

ORIGINS OF FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS
Bert Hellinger was a missionary living and working WITH the Zulu nation in South Africa. He lived there for 16 years and was really struck by the ancestor rites and rituals that they had. He went back to Germany and combined what he saw WITH various western therapies. Chief among them, Karl Jung's work on archetypes. He then founded Family Constellations in the 1990s.
